Handmade Monday #309

Hi everyone and welcome to Handmade Monday 309. Handmade Monday is our link up for handmade ideas, crafts and recipes. Creative bloggers can share their tutorials and projects and we can all be inspired.

It was my husband’s birthday on Wednesday. It’s always a bit difficult to have a celebration so soon after Christmas and New Year but we do try to make it special for him. We’ve literally only just finished the last of the Christmas cake, mince pies and gingerbread house that we’d made for Christmas so this year instead of a birthday cake he asked for scones with jam and clotted cream. The family are coming round for a meal tonight and we’ll have the scones for our pudding or dessert. I made half plain and half with sultanas in them and I’ve been lucky enough to find some clotted cream in a local supermarket which, according to my husband, is mandatory for the proper enjoyment of a scone!

I used my basic cheese scone recipe but to make them sweet you just omit the cheese and mustard and add 3 tbsps on sugar instead, then a couple of handfuls of sultanas if you want fruit scones.

As promised we have features now from the Handmade Monday before Christmas. Click through on the photos to see the original posts.

  • Please remember if you want to pin any of these ideas please make sure you click through via the photo to the original project.

Meredith from Arts and Classy brought us not 1 but 4 makeover ideas plus a bonus idea when she shared how she’s updated her home office space. All the ideas are beautiful but I’m definitely inspired to try the colour block accent wall idea in my own craft space when I move rooms later this year.

Quilting Patchwork Applique has made a lovely casserole dish carrier, what a great idea.

Congratulations to you all There is a "YAY I was featured" button over here if you want to add one to your blog.

A like on social media, a comment or share is an easy way for us all to help to support one another so please do take a moment to visit some of the other projects linked up this week. It’s not mandatory to be able to join in here, there’s no easy way to check if you did but it costs nothing but a few minutes of your time.

The rules for Handmade Monday are very simple:

  • Did you make it? Yes - then yay! We'd love to see it

  • Add the link to a specific post, not your main blog url

  • You can link up to 3 posts each week but try to make sure it's not something that you've shared here before

  • Mingle - visit some other links - comment - share - be social

CAN I REMIND EVERYONE THAT HANDMADE MONDAY IS NOT A PLACE FOR SELLING SO NO LINKS TO ETSY OR OTHER SELLING PAGES, THEY WILL ALWAYS BE REMOVED. THANKS

If you are not sure of anything more details can be found here.

At Handmade Monday the links are shown in a random order so it’ll look different each time you pop by.
