Handmade Monday #262

How is everyone doing? Have we all written 2021 instead of 2022 now that the novelty has worn off? I’m usually all over it until mid Jan then I seem to forget we started a new year and settle back into my old ways!

I have SO many projects on the go at the moment, nothing finished, just lots of WIPs. Check out my Knitting and Crochet slang guide if you don’t know what a WIP is!

I have ventured onto TikTok now, is anyone else on there? I’d be happy to connect, follow, whatever it is that you do. I really don’t know what I’m doing, I have a plan to share little mini tutorials but for now I’m getting to grips with filming something that’s not totally rubbish. I was using imovies as I have that already on my phone and have used it a few times of Instagram but it really doesn’t seem to work for TikTok, so my first “tutorial” attempt was all in a tiny square box instead of full screen by the time I’d finished. Not what I’d planned at all but I figured better than nothing and as I’d spent several hours messing about it would have to do! What an amateur I am!! :-D

My daughter does a bit on TikTok so she’s been recommending other things to try so we’ll see. I saw it as a fun way try out videos without them having to be as polished as I’d like if I were to do You Tube, a bit of a training ground maybe?

I would like to follow more craft people though, at the moment I’m not liking or following enough apparently so all I get it a mad stream of young people doing silly things! I may abandon it in a few months but we’ll see, nothing ventured nothing gained and all that.

Now here are the features from last week’s Handmade Monday, just click through on the photos to see the original posts -

  • Please remember if you want to pin any of these ideas please make sure you click through via the photo to the original project.

Linda from Crafts a la Mode shared this beautiful valentine idea from her archives. You can pop tiny sweets or candies inside them, what a lovely way to use little scraps of your pretty papers.

Alexandra from Eye love Knots has a free pattern for this beautiful bobblish scarf, look at that gorgeous texture.

Fresh Vintage by Lisa S gave an old suitcase a new look to turn it into useful storage using old book pages and copies of vintage photos. I love how Lisa says “My definition of organizing: Putting things inside other things!”

Congratulations to you all. There is a "YAY I was featured" button over here if you want to add one to your blog. I think you should - you deserve it!!!

Please do take a moment to visit some of the other projects linked up this week. Share some of your favourites on your social media maybe and leave a nice comment or two.

Supporting one another with a like or share isn’t too much to ask right? And every little helps :-)

The rules for Handmade Monday are very simple:

  • Did you make it? Yes - then yay! We'd love to see it

  • Add the link to a specific post, not your main blog url

  • You can link up to 3 posts each week but try to make sure it's not something that you've shared here before

  • Mingle - visit some other links - comment - share - be social

CAN I REMIND EVERYONE THAT HANDMADE MONDAY IS NOT A PLACE FOR SELLING SO NO LINKS TO ETSY OR OTHER SELLING PAGES, THEY WILL ALWAYS BE REMOVED. THANKS

If you are not sure of anything more details can be found here
