Handmade Monday #347

Hi all and welcome to another Handmade Monday, our weekly link up for handmade ideas, crafts and recipes. Creative bloggers can share their tutorials and projects and we can all check out all the ideas and get inspired.

I’m currently on fire with the “I make my own clothes” thing - my second wearable garment in as many weeks! This week I finished a knitting project; this tank top was a quick easy make, made from old yarn I had unraveled from a damaged hand knitted cardigan. I used this simple free pattern from Drops Design but switched the stitches up a bit because I was reusing old yarn and I thought plain stocking stitch would look dreadful! It’s knitting in the round so I just added bands of purl stitches, moss stitch, andalusian stitch, just simple patterns made with just knit and purl stitches to add texture and disguise the fact my yarn was all wiggly. I know there are ways you can wash yarn like this and dry it with weights to help remove the wiggle but this works too! Normal service was resumed with my compulsion to be a tiny bit ridiculous when filming or photographing myself too, why I felt the need to do a thumbs up is anybody’s guess!

Anyway, enough about me, now let’s take a look at the features from last week’s Handmade Monday.

  • Remember if you want to pin any of these ideas please make sure you click through via the photo to the original project.

Joy’s Jots, Shots and Whatnots has made this sweet card from scraps of fabric. I love using tiny fabric scraps and made some similar scrap fabric cards a few years ago but with fabric bit used on a smaller scale. I love Joy’s completely covered cards.

Val from Road Gypsies Val and Holland has a clever idea to make the toe post of thongs more comfortable with some simple crochet. This is another example of that language divide between the UK and US that I talk about sometimes. Here in the UK these summer shoes are called flip flops. A thong is underwear only!

These clay place cards from Crazy Little Love Birds are just gorgeous.

Congratulations to you all There is a "YAY I was featured" button over here if you want to add one to your blog.

A like on social media, a comment or share is an easy way for us all to help to support one another so please do take a moment to visit some of the other projects linked up this week. It’s not mandatory to be able to join in here, there’s no easy way to check if you did but it costs nothing but a few minutes of your time and is just a nice thing to do!

The rules for Handmade Monday are very simple:

  • Did you make it? Yes - then yay! We'd love to see it

  • Add the link to a specific post, not your main blog url

  • You can link up to 3 posts each week but try to make sure it's not something that you've shared here before

  • Mingle - visit some other links - comment - share - be social

HANDMADE MONDAY IS NOT A PLACE FOR SELLING SO NO LINKS TO ETSY OR OTHER SELLING PAGES, THEY WILL ALWAYS BE REMOVED. THANKS

If you are not sure of anything more details can be found here.

At Handmade Monday the links are shown in a random order so it’ll look different each time you pop by.
