Welcome to Handmade Monday #117. I don’t know about you, but for me the weeks are just flying by. I can’t believe we are well into March already, roll on the spring, I’m done with winter now! Spring is my favourite time of year, I love the buds on the tress, blossom and spring bulbs. All that possibility! I’m less keen on the strong winds and driving rain that we often get here! Give me a bright crisp morning any day.
Handmade Monday is our weekly link up where you can share your craft projects and ideas or browse for new ideas. We like to see your new projects but feel free to share an oldie too, especially if it’s something you’ve not shared here before.
I’m thinking of changing to the new style of InLinkz link up, what do you all think? I’m seeing the new version being used more and more and once you are signed up it is easier to link up but I did find it a bit difficult at first. What do you all think? InLinkz are definitely encouraging the switch but I don’t want to make the change if you all are not happy with it yet.
Anyway, let’s not worry about that just now, let’s take a little look at the features from last week’s Handmade Monday. Please click on the photos to go through to the original posts if you want to pin any of these ideas.
I have always had a bit of a thing for garden gnomes, my grandparents had a couple in their garden and as a kid I thought they were hilarious. So I was very impressed to see this cute gnome door stop from Kristie at Love my Little Cottage. He’s cute, bright, fun and inexpensive to make.
Margi from Zeleni trenutki shared a loved idea to give an old pair of jean shorts a new lease of life. Little crochet flowers. This is an idea, rather than a pattern but you can find free little crochet flower patterns easily enough online (Pinterest will help you!)
I’ve realised that I don’t seem to pick food ideas as a feature here on Handmade Monday very often, I don’t know why as I do love to eat! I’m drooling over this S’more Brownie idea from Lou Lou Girls, I have a very sweet tooth so this is right up my street. We don’t have graham crackers here in the UK but we have digestive biscuits which we can substitute so it’s ok!
Congratulations to you all. there is a "YAY I was featured" button over here if you want to add one to your blog :-)
Did you know we have a Handmade Monday facebook group. It’s not a massively overactive group, I let the group each week when the link up goes live and if I come across anything I think might be useful or interesting for my fellow Handmade Mondayers I’ll share that too. It would be nice for it to be a little bit more active, maybe if other members felt able to share things they came across that would help the others to it could be a more helpful to us all? Anyway if you are not already a member do send me a request, you can find the group here.
Handmade Monday is all about building a crafting community, we most definitely are better together, so please do take a moment to visit some of the other projects linked up this week. Share some of your favourites on your social media maybe and leave a nice comment or two.
Let's support one another ^_^
The rules for Handmade Monday are very simple:
Did you make it? Yes - then hooray, we'd love to see it
Add the link to a specific post, not your main blog url
You can link up to 3 posts each week but try to make sure it's not stuff you've shared here before
Mingle - visit some other links - comment - share
If you are not sure of anything more details can be found here
