Handmade Monday #435
/Hi everyone and welcome to another Handmade Monday, our weekly creative link up.
This week I finally finished a rather long term sewing project, I spent 6 weeks making this simple unlined jacket, honestly I don’t know why it took me so long. No “Sewing Bee” style speedy makes for me!! I was given this tan/mustard coloured baby cord ages ago and as it’s not really my colour I offered to make our daughter something and we settled on this jacket. I made myself one in a blue fabric a few years ago and it’s been really useful.
It’s the Westend Jacket from Peppermint Magazine but cropped and without the front patch pockets. The collar on this one is sitting a little differently to the one I made myself before but I did adjust the sizing for this slightly, making it smaller, and rather than printing the whole PDF again I used tracing paper and a wheel so maybe I went a bit wrong somewhere.
It’s a fairly easy pattern, the jacket is unlined but has nice flat felled seams throughout which are pretty simple to do but give a lovely finish. I used a contrast print for the neck bias binding which I really love too.
Anyway, now let’s take a look at the features from last week’s Handmade Monday.

Remember if you want to pin any of these ideas please make sure you click through via the photo to the original project.
Arlene from Flour on my Face has a lovely edible gift idea for a friend who loves to cook - rosemary salt.
Sandra from Haekelfieber Austria has created a pattern for this super cute little crocheted cats. Sandra writes her patterns in German (which unfortunately I don’t speak) but sets her patterns out really clearly so with a little help from google translate I think the pattern will be fairly easy to follow.
Lisa from Fresh Vintage by Lisa S has made paper beads and added little metal eyelets at the ends, don’t they look great?
Congratulations to you all. There is a "YAY I was featured" button over here if you want to add one to your blog.
A like on social media, a comment or share is an easy way for us all to help to support one another so please do take a moment to visit some of the other projects linked up this week. It’s not mandatory to be able to join in here, there’s no easy way to check if you did but it costs nothing but a few minutes of your time and is just a nice thing to do!
The rules for Handmade Monday are very simple:
Did you make it? Yes - then yay! We'd love to see it
Add the link to a specific post, not your main blog url
You can link up to 3 posts each week but try to make sure it's not something that you've shared here before
Mingle - visit some other links - comment - share - be social
HANDMADE MONDAY IS NOT A PLACE FOR SELLING SO NO LINKS TO ETSY OR OTHER SELLING PAGES, THEY WILL ALWAYS BE REMOVED. THANKS
If you are not sure of anything more details can be found here.
At Handmade Monday the links are shown in a random order so it’ll look different each time you pop by.
