It’s Handmade Monday time! Handmade Monday is a creative weekly link up for all things craft and creative.
A couple of weeks ago I had a nasty flu bug and ended up spending quite a lot of time just scrolling on my phone. One thing that kept on popping up on my Instagram feed was a way to preserve autumn leaves with glycerin.
As soon as I was feeling better I gave it a go. You mix 50% glycerin 50% water and soak your autumn leaves for 4-5 days. They are supposed to stay soft and flexible so you can use them for all sorts of crafts. I’ve only made a little collage with my preserved leaves so far. I was able to glue a couple of leaves to paper with a pva glue and no residue from the glycerin marked the paper.
I’ll keep an eye on the rest of my leaves and report back in a few months if they remain soft or if they’ve started to deteriorate.
