Hi everyone and welcome to Handmade Monday #103 here at Sum of their Stories!
I’ve been busy busy with a little prep for Christmas (but nowhere near enough TBH!) I also tried out a little embroidery idea on some monochrome fabric that I’ve had for almost a year. I just have a fat quarter and I knew I wanted to do something fun with it so it’s sat in my stash for 11 months whilst I thought about it! Do you hold on to things for ages too, not wanting to start something in case you change your mind once it’s too late? Anyway, I finally decided to fill the centre of one of the flowers with french knots, a little time consuming but fun, and easy to do whilst chatting or watching tv.
I’ve got a giveaway running this week too, and have 4 kits on offer from Amazing Craft. Each one to make a sweet little felt decoration. It’s worldwide so please do pop by and enter, share etc :-)
Enough about me, let’s take a look at the features from last week’s Handmade Monday. Please click on the photos to go through to the original posts if you want to pin any of these ideas.
Amalia from Handmade by Amalia shares lovely photos of her makes and accompanies them with a poem. This one is particularly cute. There’s no details about how she made the cushion cover, it looks like knit and a bit of a scrap buster to me - isn’t it pretty? Click through to read the poem, it’s short and sweet!
Caroline from CJ made showed us how she made a whole load of gift bags from her old PJ’s - I love ‘waste not want not’ ideas like this and reusable gift bags are such a great idea.
You all made it So difficult for me to pick just 2 features from last week, I honestly could have picked 20 quite easily! I have gone for a 3rd this week, this absolutely lovely Christmas tree made for a quiet book by Naehbegeisterte . This blog is in German and although Google is doing a nice automatic translate job for me I can’t find the name of the blogger anywhere to credit them properly. Google has translated the blog name into I - Completely Unpainted for me, but anyway, click through and admire the gorgeous Christmas tree and all it’s detail.
Congratulations to you all. there is a "YAY I was featured" button for your blog over here if you want to add one to your blog :-)
Handmade Monday has a group Pinterest board. I pin as many of the projects shared here as I can each week, but I don’t always get to you all. If you’d like to join the board and pin your own projects there you are very welcome. Just follow all my boards on Pinterest then email or Pinterest message me, letting me know the email address you use for Pinterest and I’ll send you an invite.
Handmade Monday is all about building a crafting community, we most definitely are better together, so please do take a moment to visit some of the other projects linked up this week. Share some of your favourites on your social media maybe and leave a nice comment or two.
Let's support one another ^_^
The rules for Handmade Monday are very simple:
Did you make it? Yes - then hooray, we'd love to see it
Add the link to a specific post, not your main blog url
You can link up to 3 posts each week but try to make sure it's not stuff you've shared here before
Mingle - visit some other links - comment - share
If you are not sure of anything more details can be found here
