Handmade Monday #426
/It’s Handmade Monday time! Welcome to our creative link up where bloggers can link up their craft tutorials, projects, recipes etc to inspire us all.
For the last 2 years I’ve been lucky enough to visit the Festival of Quilts at the NEC near Birmingham, the UK’s biggest quilt festival and competition with 2 of my blogging friends - Vicky from Vicky Myers Creations and Kristen from Scrap Fabric Love. Kristen enters a few quilts each year and has been encouraging Vicky and me to have a go. Last July as we left we challenged each other to create a quilt to enter for display. In a ridiculous “last minute dot com” situation we both seem to have left our quilt making to the last minute so I’ve spent most of the last couple of days frantically trying to bring my memory quilt idea to life!
The idea started when I found this gorgeous vibrant pink velvet dress that my mum wore to be a bridesmaid at her brother’s (my uncle’s) wedding in the 1960s. A big chunk had been cut out at some point in the past so it wasn’t a precious garment and it gave me the idea to find other fabrics worn by family members where I have a photo of them in it. It’s taken a while to get enough together which is my excuse for being so last minute with my project!
Let’s take a look at the features from last week’s Handmade Monday.

Remember if you want to pin any of these ideas please make sure you click through via the photo to the original project.
Meredith from Arts and Classy made this lovely boho style mirror from rope and a dollar store pizza pan.
Missy from Sonata Home design repurposed a canvas and tablecloth to brighten up her porch for summer.
Nancy from Grace and Peace Quilting shared some sweet baby quilts, I just love the close up photos Nancy shares of the quilt patterns she uses.
Congratulations to you all. There is a "YAY I was featured" button over here if you want to add one to your blog.
A like on social media, a comment or share is an easy way for us all to help to support one another so please do take a moment to visit some of the other projects linked up this week. It’s not mandatory to be able to join in here, there’s no easy way to check if you did but it costs nothing but a few minutes of your time and is just a nice thing to do!
The rules for Handmade Monday are very simple:
Did you make it? Yes - then yay! We'd love to see it
Add the link to a specific post, not your main blog url
You can link up to 3 posts each week but try to make sure it's not something that you've shared here before
Mingle - visit some other links - comment - share - be social
HANDMADE MONDAY IS NOT A PLACE FOR SELLING SO NO LINKS TO ETSY OR OTHER SELLING PAGES, THEY WILL ALWAYS BE REMOVED. THANKS
If you are not sure of anything more details can be found here.
At Handmade Monday the links are shown in a random order so it’ll look different each time you pop by.
