Handmade Monday #451
/It’s Handmade Monday time! Handmade Monday is a creative weekly link up for all things craft and creative.
We put our Christmas decorations up this week, we also had a trip to the pantomime so I’m feeling pretty festive now.
I know not everywhere has a pantomime tradition but if you ever get the chance to go to one it is a huge amount of fun. It’s basically one of a handful of traditional old kids stories (Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Puss in Boots, Snow White, Dick Whittington, Jack and the Beanstalk etc) retold as a kids show with lots of music and dance with lots of silliness added in.
The main elements are: a singalong, some slapstick “gunge/shaving foam” messiness, lots of audience participation with kids screeching “it’s behind you!”, a baddy who gets booed constantly, some sort of fairy with a very sparkly outfit and small on stage pyrotechnics every time they appear, plus children from local dance or drama schools who perform the chorus and dances. The main young male character is always played by a woman, the pantomime dame is always a man who wears the most outlandish costumes you can imagine.
If it sounds ridiculous then I’ve describes it right because it is. But if you ever get to go you will hopefully laugh until your cheeks hurt. This instagram post from our local theatre gives a good flavour of this year’s panto if you want to know more.
Anyway enough about the panto, let’s take a look at the features from last week’s Handmade Monday.

Remember if you want to pin any of these ideas please make sure you click through via the photo to the original project.
Jennifer Adams from Studio 27 showed us how to create these lovely faux gingerbread houses.
These pretzel bites from Crystal and Co look so festive, what a lovely gift a jar full of these would make.
This minimalist Christmas picture from Petticoat Junction is made from electrical tape! What a clever and effective idea.
Congratulations to you all. There is a "YAY I was featured" button over here if you want to add one to your blog.
A like on social media, a comment or share is an easy way for us all to help to support one another so please do take a moment to visit some of the other projects linked up this week. It’s not mandatory to be able to join in here, there’s no easy way to check if you did but it costs nothing but a few minutes of your time and is just a nice thing to do!
The rules for Handmade Monday are very simple:
Did you make it? Yes - then yay! We'd love to see it
Add the link to a specific post, not your main blog url
You can link up to 3 posts each week but try to make sure it's not something that you've shared here before
Mingle - visit some other links - comment - share - be social
HANDMADE MONDAY IS NOT A PLACE FOR SELLING SO NO LINKS TO ETSY OR OTHER SELLING PAGES, THEY WILL ALWAYS BE REMOVED. THANKS
If you are not sure of anything more details can be found here.
At Handmade Monday the links are shown in a random order so it’ll look different each time you pop by.
