10 Creative Denim Jewellery Ideas

Denim is such a lovely fabric to create your own jewellery with.

Denim is a hard wearing and beautiful fabric that we are all really familiar with. The process to make denim is very water and energy intensive so it stands to reason that we should a) take care of our jeans so they last as long as possible and b) put that denim fabric to good use in a new creative way once the jeans are unwearable. Same goes for denim jackets too of course.

I love using denim for all sorts of creative projects, it makes great tote bags because it’s a strong sturdy fabric but it can also be used for more delicate things like jewellery.

Because of the way it is made denim will have blue threads and white threads running in opposite directions and a lot of creative ideas to repurpose it will involve fraying to show this off and create a decorative effect.

I’ve put together a collection of different ideas to make jewellery, for yourself or to give as a gift, that are great for using even small scraps of leftover denim.
